TEAM BUILDING- Serious, Fun - or a bit of both?
When we are asked for a team building day there are so many different concepts to offer. Sometimes, a bit of shooting and quad-biking disguised as team-building is the answer, on other occasions there is a much more serious aspect to the event.
We would be happy to discuss your requirements and then propose an event tailored to your needs and incorporating both physical and mental tasks.
Our events are normally based outdoors, but, if the weather is horrid, we can adapt and make use of the large barns for indoor teams tasks instead.
"Was a superb day enjoyed by all. Your friendliness and organisation of the day was top class! …….. staff extremely helpful and went the extra mile for us."
Rhiannon Gray Davidson Chalmers, April 2006
Over the years we have built up a portfolio of itineraries to choose from and hopefully the learning opportunities give team members the chance to discover more about themselves and their colleagues.
See below for an outline of one of our team building concepts, our Treasure Hunts, but do call us to talk through other ideas.
TREASURE HUNTS
We have found that Treasure Hunts are extremely popular as a team activity. These can either be on foot in the grounds of the venue; in vehicles, going out to various locations in the surrounding countryside, or they can be city based, like the Edinburgh Quest where guests discover locations, articles and items of interest in addition to completing the treasure hunt.
ACTIVITY TREASURE HUNT
This event has been designed to encourage the teams to work under pressure in an unfamiliar environment. They are outdoors, under a time pressure and we ideally like to put in a few questions to be answered regarding their Company. It is amazing how team members forget all relevant information when they are in an unfamiliar environment but it pulls them back to remembering about the workplace. They are faced with physical and mental challenges on their hunt and clues to the next task locations can only be released by successfully completing these challenges.
THE EDINBURGH QUEST
The Edinburgh Quest is a fun way for the guests who are only visiting Edinburgh for a short time, to find out a little more about the city. It has been devised to last for approx 2˝ hours. The start and finish venue can be changed but is likely to be the group’s city centre Hotel.
The Edinburgh Quest is usually centred on the Princes Street/Old Town area of Scotland’s capital.
The objective is to explore a route around central Edinburgh and to complete four different stages.
Each stage will earn points for the team and the winning team will be the one to have scored the greatest number of points.
The 4 stages of Edinburgh Quest are:
- How well do you know Scotland? (Scottish Trivia)
- Edinburgh Quest - Observation Questions which will lead the teams around central Edinburgh.
- Picture this! - Members of the team are to be photographed with their Team Badge with 10 different backgrounds.
- Collectables - Using only the money provided, the teams must acquire items listed in the Information Pack.
