Activity Days with Mavis Hall Parkmavis hall park event management

ACTIVITY DAYS

Listed below are some of the activities you can choose from – your only problem will be how many you can fit into just one day !

After all the action, what better than rounding the day off with a dinner in the farm? We can offer our traditional Farm Steadings for barbecues, Barn Dinners and Ceilidhs or theme it to suit your event.

Clay pigeon shooting

Activity Options

Clay Pigeon Shooting:

Each guest can shoot at a variety of stands situated around the loch. Full instruction is given to all guests and we have special ladies’ guns and use low recoil cartridges to minimise any ‘kick’. Children from the age of approx. 9 are also welcome – although it does rather depend on your size rather than your age for this activity.

Quad Bikes:

They are easy to ride and lots of fun. We set up a course that combines skill and speed. The fun becomes addictive! Unfortunately, age is the deciding factor for this activity and we are unable to take guests under the age of 16.

"We had such a great time – people are still very enthusiastic about the whole day and keep telling me they have never met such a nice and professional crew…. Organisation, atmosphere, activities, fun – everything was just right…"
Roel Bergsma, Macaw Nederland September 2005

Off Road Driving:

A chance to test your driving skills and learn how to use these vehicles to their full ability. An instructor to help you – but you’re in the driving seat as you make your way round the twists and turns of the course – or we can take you into the hills on a Lammermuir Safari.

Blindfold Driving:

Find out whether you trust your colleague or if a colleague trusts you! The driver is blindfolded and is required to navigate around a short course whilst receiving instructions from a colleague. This can also be extremely amusing when tried by a ‘husband and wife’ team !

Powerturn:

Completely different from any other vehicle, a Powerturn is steered by the rear wheels rotating at different speeds. They have been described as a cross between a wheelchair and a Honda Pilot!

honda pilots

Honda Pilots:

Experience a thrilling ride around the circuit. Drivers are protected inside a roll cage and must negotiate the tight circuit within a target time.

Hovercraft:

Single seat hovercraft provide an amazing adventure! After full briefing and safety instruction, the guests will navigate their craft around a course, riding on a cushion of air!

The Cracker:

Teams of 4 will drive The Cracker, which is a converted land rover (well, two really) as it has two front ends! Each person is responsible for different controls and the team must negotiate around a circuit of gates and garages.

archery

Archery:

Our qualified instructors will show you how to hit the mark!

Crossbow:

William Tell had a true aim as he split the apple on his son's head. Our instructors will show you how to hit the target!

Field Archery:

Your instructor will teach you how to shoot, not only at the target but also at various targets representing animals disguised in the woodlands and undergrowth.

Air Rifle Session:

Learn this art - a fixed target rather than a moving one this time - very different from the clay pigeon shooting.

falconry

Falconry:

This can either be included as part of a circuit of activities or can be a wonderful demonstration event down by the loch at the end of an activity day or with pre-dinner drinks in the Summer. Guests watch a display of the magnificent birds of prey including eagles, hawks, falcons and owls before having the chance to fly a selection of the birds themselves.

Carriage Driving:

The guests will be given the opportunity to learn how to manoeuvre a horse driven carriage around a set course.
